Mom and Dad with their granddogs – Left=Snorri, Right=Coyote
David A. and Nancy T. were in Norway this June, and this web log was a starting point in the collaboration between Stavanger and Bellingham to plan the events!
This website was meant to be private, but was not privacy-protected for various reasons. It was put together through various sources I have stumbled across on the internet, and where possible I have linked directly to those websites.
There is so much to see and do in Norway, especially in the summertime, so I hope you, my friends and family, will save as much money as humanly possible and come up / over for a visit soon!
A note to all visitors to Norway: if you pass through ´go´without using up your entire duty-free allotment you will be sorry… and suspicious looking to the Norwegian border guards. Being duty-free bag-less is a good way to stick out.
This is the Kalstrup airport in Copenhagen… duty free is just up there to the right
Velkommen!

Erin, what do you mean when you say, “If you pass through ´go´without using up your entire duty-free allotment you will be very very sorry…”
Do you mean on the way to Norway, or coming home?

I meant on the way IN to Norway. Savvy visitors use up their entire duty-free allotment when entering the country. In this case, that means up to four bottles of wine each. Or a combination of wine and beer, or gin and wine, etc.
The taxes are so pernicious on alcoholic beverages that it makes a lot of sense to buy it in duty free if you can!
It’s also a nice gift to bring people when we stay with them.
